DOLE-X boosts Team Amega’s Eclectic Image Fashion Studio

Cagayan de Oro City, 4 July --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) through its Cagayan de Oro City Field Office (CDO FO) boost Team Amega’s Fashion and Event Organizing Association by granting livelihood enhancement project which was occasioned with the the opening of the Eclectic Image Fashion Studio on 8 June 2019 at M.H. Del Pilar Street, here.

The association is a recipient of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) highlighting beauty fashion in any event. The DOLE grant included beauty and fashion equipment and raw materials worth Php 500,000.00. 29 active male, female and gay professional hair, make-up, and image stylists paved the way to the opening of their fashion studio. The studio caters to hair, make-up styling and gown rentals.

DOLE-X CDO FO Chief Ebba B. Acosta emphasized the exercise of fairness and gender-sensitivity in the project fund distribution. “We focus on the program objective of developing entrepreneurial skills that can provide additional incomes to members and at the same time generate employment in the community,” she said.

Team Amega Founder Jeffrey “Jie-Jie” Aisa said he is thankful to DOLE for giving them the opportunity to enhance their existing project allowing them sustained incomes. Macajalar Wharf Porters Association Multi-Purpose Cooperative is the accredited co-partner (ACP) of the studio.

Aisa said the association first started with make-up and hair styling services, which later ventured to fashion design, events coordination, beauty pageant styling and personality development coaching that the group only earns during graduation, weddings or debut occasions. With the help of the one-stop studio DOLE grant, Aisa said they can cater to more clients raising their earnings.

Team Secretary April Chua said, “Aside from our existing clients or “suki”, we have already felt that the demand of our services has increased, thus the need to put up a one-stop studio.” She said with the help of their relatives and friends, they learned of DOLE’s livelihood assistance that also caters to their kind of business and willing to help people like them who have the potential and skills but lack the monetary resource opportunity. “We believe this enhancement project will surely improve our existing business and also benefitting our individual lives,” Chua said.

The group aims to utilize the social media trend as their marketing platform ensuring continuing improvement and service quality to all their clients.
