1,517 jobs available for 2-day Plaridel Job Fair and One-stop Shop

 

OROQUIETA CITY, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, September 3, 2019---- In line with the celebration on the upcoming 118th Annual Town Fiesta Celebration in Plaridel, its Local Government Unit (LGU) through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) and in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X), through its Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) will be offering 1,517 available jobs thru a Job Fair on 5 and 6 September 2019 at the Plaridel Gymnasium.

 

In a collaborative effort with DOLE and the LGU, the two-day activity will be easier and faster for jobseekers to find occupations that will match their interests, qualifications and career inclinations.

    

DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO Chief Leonardo G. Rodrigo invites the new graduates, unemployed, retrenched workers, skilled and unskilled, displaced workers, returning OFWS, and those who are seeking professional advancement to grab this opportunity of formal employment.

 

Chief Rodrigo also reported that approximately 917 jobs are available for local employment from six participating companies, while 600 job vacancies for overseas with valid job orders and duly approved by the Philippine Overseas Employment (POEA) are available from two overseas recruitment agencies.

 

Top local vacancies include: electronic assembler (500), account officer (100), and bus driver (60). Meanwhile, overseas job posts are: household service worker (180); factory worker (100), and caregiver (60) mostly bound for Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan countries.

 

Moreover, six national government agencies committed to offer their pre-employment services to the job seekers: Social Security System (SSS) application and helpdesk services; Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) to provide assistance for government employees’ queries on monthly premium contributions; Pag-ibig Fund for assistance on the registration of applicants; Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the authentication/issuance of birth certificate, etc.; Land Transportation Office (LTO) for application and renewal of driver’s license; and  the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for passport applications and other services.

 

Plaridel PESO Manager Gemma Cabiles advised the interested applicants to bring with them their resume and photocopy of their credentials during the Job Fair.  For overseas job applicants, they are advised to bring their passports, certificate of employment and other documents that will manifest their overseas work experience and other related documents, to speed up their applications.
