IC- LDN Family Welfare Program Federation kicks off 1st leg bowling tournament

 

Iligan City --- The first leg of the Bowling Tournament led by the Iligan City-Lanao del Norte Federation of Family Welfare Committees (IC-LDN FFWC) in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) – Field Office of Lanao del Norte (LDN PFO), had a kick-off recently at the Midtown Bowling Lanes, Derbe Street, here.

 

IC- LDN FFWC Chairperson Felma B. Suzon said the activity aims to uphold the value of sportsmanship and teamwork among its 95 member-companies from various private sector in the province, of which 12 joined the event. GN Power, Phoenix LPG, Newtech Pulp and Pilmico were qualified to compete for the semi-finals within the month.

 

DOLE-X LDN PFO Chief Remegio D. Cabañog said the Family Welfare Program is an advocacy program of the Department that promotes the welfare of workers and their families as a key to workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations. The program boosts corporate support in promoting workers’ quality of life through family-centered approach in the workplace.

 

Cabañog said the Bowling Tournament, under the sports and leisure dimension of the program promotes the value of teamwork and the ability to work well with each other, thus creating a healthy lifestyle and sustained health awareness.

 

The tournament is an annual event of the Federation aimed to foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among its members.
