DOLE-X OIC-Regional Director Albert E. Gutib spearheaded the awarding recognition event highlighting the PESO’s implementation of the four core employment facilitation services: (1) Referral and Placement; (2) Provision of Labor Market Information (LMI); (3) Career Guidance and Employment Coaching; and (4) Livelihood and Emergency Employment program facilitation.

Likewise, Director Gutib gave importance to the PESO’s notable performance for CY2020 in the employment facilitation of 63,676 jobseekers and 173,495 clients reached with LMI (supply and demand of jobs). “This year brought many challenges on our shoulders such as the COVID-19 pandemic but despite all the challenges we remain steadfast in looking towards the country’s recovery, which is also in line with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the PESO Act of 1999, which served as the landmark and the beacon of life to remind us of the value and significance of the DOLE and PESO’s partnership in service for years,” ASEC Tutay said.

The DOLE always recognizes the long history of growth and service of PESO, from the time of the program’s formal establishment in 1999 to the implementation of progressive policies to strengthen its presence in the grassroots of our society, until it has evolved into facilitating programs in addressing issues brought by the COVID-19 pandemic like: COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged workers (TUPAD), Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko (BKBK) program, Abot Kamay Ang Pagtulong sa OFWs (AKAP), and the livelihood programs of DOLE.
