More than 5,000 vacant job posts await job seekers on DOLE’s online 119th Labor Day Job and Business

Cagayan de Oro City, 27 April – The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) OIC-Regional Director Albert E. Gutib said that as of today there are about 4,987 local and 498 overseas jobs or a total of 5,485 vacancies initially offered starting Friday, during the two-day (30 April-1 May 2021) online job and business fair in the entire Northern Mindanao region, in line with the 119th Labor Day celebration on 1 May 2021.

Director Gutib said this is the second-time online job fair for local placement is in collaboration with the digital portal The first collaboration was during DOLE’s 87th Anniversary job fair on 8 December 2020.

Local job postings for NorthMin region are all posted in the said website.

Call center posts on Customer Service Representative tops the list with 610 available jobs; this is followed by Production Worker (150); Mason (135); Cashier/Bagger (111); Sales Representative (105); Prequalification Specialist/ Technical Support Expert/ Sales Clerk (100); Laborer (89); Carpenter (76); Bus Conductor/Bus Driver (75); and Service Crew (65), among others. 

“Since this will be an online job fair, applicants must prepare in digital copies their resume or they can make one thru Mynimo’s online template,” Director Gutib said.

Job seekers must first register and post their credentials and application cover letters at The applicants have the option to either post their updated resume or they can create one in the Mynimo site. It is important that an applicant has an active email account which is to be provided upon registration in the said job fair link.

If interested, applications should click the submit button. It will automatically add in their “My Application” option. To see the application details, applicants should click the view button.

To search for other available jobs, applicants may type the position then click the search button.

Job seekers may only submit their local jobs application during the two-day fair, but they can verify the status of their applications beyond 1 May 2021.

An initial of 498 overseas job listings are accessible through POEA’s website at from five licensed manpower agencies. 

Overseas vacancies are mostly Registered Nurse (300); Restaurant Worker (44); Waiter (30); and Labor (25), among others, mostly bound to Middle-East countries. 

The online job fair is organized by the Department’s Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), in coordination with the DOLE Regional Offices and its corresponding Provincial Field Offices. 

Moreover, on 29 April 2021; 1:00 PM, DOLE-X will host a three-segment Webinar Special, in convergence with partner line agencies, intended for the displaced/ underemployed workers in the formal and informal sectors. It highlights jobs and businesses in this new normal. 

The Trabaho segment (1) focuses on the jobs and skills training opportunities to support creation of employment and income. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-X) Regional Director lawyer Ashary A. Banto will discuss on TVET Employment and other programs. Negosyo segment (2) promotes local MSMEs and their products accessible and responsive to market demands. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-X) OIC-Regional Director Ermedio J. Abang will share the procedures in starting-up a business and the government’s means of support to existing business and services. And, the Kabuhayan segment (3) which fosters the convergence with the different livelihood and entrepreneurship groups including Workers’ Associations. DOLE-X will present its advocacy on its various livelihood programs, as well as addressing the dispute resolutions in Workers’ Associations. Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA-X) Regional Director Petrona M. Bergado will also share livelihood programs for our OFWs.

Interested participants are all invited to listen and know more on these topics through the live streaming in our official DOLE-X Facebook pages - DOLE NorthMin and DOLE-X Labor and Employment Education Services LEES. It is encouraged that participants to press “like” in the said official social media pages to be in the know on labor and employment rules and various programs. 

This virtual job and business fair system is in compliance with the government safety and health restrictions on mass gatherings in preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus. 

Moreover, this is the response of the government through this Department as the economy rebounds and some countries are gradually opening their economies.

This year’s 119th Online Labor Day Trabaho-Negosyo-Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair celebration in the region is anchored on the theme, “Mayo Uno sa bagong panahon – MANGGAGAWA at MAMAMAYAN BABANGON, SUSULONG!.”
