PWD worker assisted with DOLE-TUPAD; aids 80 MisOr disadvantaged/ displaced workers

Cagayan de Oro City --- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE X) - Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Or. PFO) released MLhuillier money remittance KPTN reference numbers to some 80 beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantage/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) on 11 June 2021 at Poblacion 6 Covered Court, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.

DOLE-X Mis. Or. PFO Chief Errol A. Natividad said the project amounted PhP 292,000.00.

The worker-beneficiaries were assigned in various social community projects like cleaning public roads in the different barangays in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Balingasag, Misamis Oriental for 10 days which started on 5 April 2021 and ended on 16 April 2021.

[I am thankful I am included as a beneficiary of DOLE, especially so that I am a PWD. The monetary assistance can defray the expenses of my medicines because I cannot walk.]

Edades, a 29-year-old resident of Blanco, Balingasag, became a PWD due to an accident. Despite his condition, Natividad said he was able to perform his tasks as a TUPAD worker by cleaning his yard at home with the assistance of a walker.

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Erven A. Yangular said when his TUPAD services concluded, he is now making handicrafts to sell online to sustain his daily needs.

Yangular thanked DOLE-X for the continued partnership and support, on behalf of Mayor Alexis S. Quina. He said it is with great privilege to serve their constituents, especially in this time of pandemic.

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
