Valencia City --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) lead the Valencia City Annual Job Fair on 11 November 2016 held at this city’s Gymnasium.
DOLE-X Buk PFO Head Raul L. Valmores that the City Government of Valencia through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Elna B. Guzman collaborated to provide employment opportunities to new entrants to the labor force, jobseekers or career shifters and to supply companies who are in need of manpower with qualified applicants.
Valmores reported 21 local companies had joined the Job Fair: (1) Philam Life; (2) BDO Unibank, Inc.; (3) Concentrix Services Corporation; (4) M. Montesclaros Hospitality Inc.; (5) Rural Transit Mindanao Inc.; (6) Fast Distribution Corporation; (7) Davao Citihardware, Inc.; (8) Philippine Call Center Institute; (9) Teleperformance; (10) Robinsons; (11) NVM Marketing, Inc.; (12) Gaisano – Valencia; (13) Rhean Cycle Mart; (14) Laviña General Hospital, Inc.; (15) Alrose Group of Companies; (16) Lapanday Diversified Products Corp.; (17) Centro Supersales Inc./Goodforce Trading Inc.; (18) Unifrutti Tropical Philippines, Inc.; (19) Bukidnon Pineapple Workers Cooperative; (20) Convergys Philippines, Inc.; and (21) Bukidnon Sub-Transmission Corp.
Likewise, nine overseas recruitment agencies also participated, (1) Iexcel Manpower Corporation; (2) Pacific Star International; (3) YHMD International Manpower Services, Inc.; (4) FVJ Overseas Placement, Inc.; (5) Euroasia Philippines, Inc.; (6) Placewell International Services Corp.; (7) Al Assal Manpower Inc.; (8) Bright Star Placement Corp.; and (9) Light and Hope Overseas Placement Agency.
City Councilor Glenn P. Peduche, and also Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment, thanked DOLE, “On behalf of our City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas and his constituents are very grateful of the services and programs of the Department of Labor and Employment. We are very happy that our constituents can avail these programs, it will surely help our job seekers to be able to find job easily.”
Meanwhile, Miss Pearl Tan, 22 years old of P-2B Barangay Lumbo of the city was one of the six who was Hired-On-The-Spot (HOTS) at Convergys Philippines, Inc. as Customer Service Representative.
Tan was grateful for hiring her, “I was happy I was hired on the spot. Being a Call Center customer representative was my dream job!” She is an AB English graduate at Central Mindanao University and in now eagerly awaiting to go to Convergys Philippines, Inc., in Cebu City.
Valmores confirmed that 779 jobseekers attended the job fair and 33 HOTS.
