Bukidnon Federation of Family Welfare Committees envisions a drug-free community on its 6th annual p
Valencia City --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) spearheaded the 6th Bukidnon Federation of Family Welfare Committees (BFFWC) Annual Provincial Convention with the theme “BFFWC: Committed to A Drug-Free Community” on 24-25 November 2016 at Jocel’s Garden, this city.
“This convention aims to instill Filipino family values among its member-companies and institutions in the framework of the 10 Dimensions of Family Welfare Program of DOLE,” DOLE-X Buk PFO Head Raul L. Valmores informed.
Valmores added that the said activity served as an effective forum for Labor and Management Representatives of companies and institutions with existing Family Welfare Committee to discuss and learn new strategies to effectively implement the program at the plant level.
BFFWC is a committee in Bukidnon, which is a part of the NMFFWC under Region X strictly implemented under Department Order No. 56-03 Series of 2009. This program is promoted by Department of Labor and Employment that will provide family welfare services to the workers in which carried out by a Family Welfare Committee. It is composed of management and labor sectors.
“The members revisited the ten Dimensions of the program: (1) nutrition; (2) hygiene and sanitation; (3) education; (4) value information spirituality; (5) leisure and sport; (6) transportation; (7) livelihood; (8) responsible parenthood; (9) housing and health; and (10) medical care.
Sumifru Philippines, Rebisco, and Crystal Sugar Company, Inc. shared their successful and best practices on the implementation of the ten dimensions.
Likewise, Valmores discussed Department Order No. 53-03, otherwise known as the Drug Free Workplace Policies and Programs in the Private Sector.
In conclusion, CDO Pathway To Recovery Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Alan Saab, supported the activity and shared the Nature of Chemical Dependency and Cycle of Co-dependency.
