Jimenez hosts DOLE-X Mis. Occ. 2017 PESO Monthly Meeting
Jimenez ---- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ..PFO)  conducts a monthly meeting of the Misamis Occidental PESO Managers Association (MOPEMA) today, 20th of January 2017 at Sangguniang Bayan, Local Government Unit (LGU) of this Municipality.
 
The event is hosted by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Jimenez headed by its PESO Manager Arnulfo Guimalan with some of its 17 managers from the LGU and academes of the province.
 
On behalf of DOLE-X Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante, Mis. Occ. PFO Head Leonardo G. Rodrigo said, “PESO aims to provide multi-dimensional employment services facility or entity to carry out full employment and equality of opportunities to DOLE clients and constituents all over the country.” 
 
The PESO was established pursuant to Republic Act 8759 or PESO Act of 1999 institutionalizing the establishment nationwide.
 
Rodrigo reported that as of the end of CY 2016, 18 PESO Managers are active throughout the province, comprising of 14 PESO-LGU and 4 PESO-Academe.
 
Meanwhile, the meeting highlights the discussion of PESO’s remarkable achievements in 2016 to be presented at the Year-end Performance Assessment (YEPA) that will be held at Dahilayan, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental on the 26th and 27th of January 2017, as well as the concerns regarding the implementation of projects and programs and liquidation of livelihood grants.
 
Rodrigo further informed that the National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) for the province includes the release of complete set of computer units for the 5th and 6th wave. The 5th wave includes the municipalities of Aloran, Jimenez, Sinacaban, and Baliangao, while the 6th wave, on the other hand, are the municipalities of Panaon, Bonifacio, and Lopez Jaena.
 
Moreover, there will be a pre-orientation lecture on the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) and the core planning for the Association on the said day according to the MOPEMA President, Filma T. Maghinay of LGU Lopez Jaena.
 
In a statement, Rodrigo concluded that the institutionalization of PESO Managers will direct more focus to the job and certainly result to more efficient delivery of services in the PESO.
