DOLE-X SEnA settles full separation pay to ten Don Carlos, Bukidnon workers
Malaybalay City, Bukidnon --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) settled Php 119,000.00 to some ten employees under its Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Program during the first hearing of their Request For Assistance (RFA) on 1 February 2017 at this office.
DOLE-X Buk PFO Head Raul L. Valmores explained that SEnA is an administrative approach to provide speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement procedure for all issues or complaints arising from employer-employee relations to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes or labor cases.
Conciliation-mediation process is applied as immediate intervention to effect amicable settlement among the parties, not necessarily with the assistance of lawyers.
“On 24 January 2017, the office had received an RFA from Mr. Rinhold S. Mangubat with some other nine workers. The issues were non-payment of 13th month pay and underpayment of wages of a company in Don Carlos, Bukidnon,” Valmores recounted.
The office then immediately attended to their request and acted as the Single Entry Desk Officer (SEADO). Both parties willfully cooperated, leading to its timely settlement.
The requesting parties were very grateful to the Department’s prompt and efficient services, “We are very thankful to the Department of Labor and Employment because we were able to receive out money claims of which we were longing and waiting for quite a time. We are thankful also to our employer because they have given what is due to us.”
