DOLE-X grants computer set to LGU-Kadingilan for workers’ skills registry

Kadingilan, Bukidnon --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) - Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) turned-over one computer set to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kadingilan, thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), on 7 April 2017 at the Municipal Hall, this municipality.

DOLE-X Buk PFO Chief Raul L. Valmores explained that the turnover was under the National Skills Registry System (NSRS) project of the Department in establishing a web-based skills registry system in the Philippines. It aims to create a readily available (IT-based) database that will aid the country’s growing problem on skill- mismatch. Through this system, a pool of available talents shall be made available to jobseekers at the community level.

Valmores acknowledged that LGU Kadingilan has always been active in implementing the programs and projects of the Department. They have been continuously supporting the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) or the employment of students in 20 to 78 days and has been a consistent partner in the implementation of Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) or the emergency employment program for the workers in the informal sector in the province.

The NSRP system simply means that when a prospective employer seeks for skilled workers, the system will help the PESO easily identify prospective talents that would fit the qualification requirements of the employer.

PESO Manager Ruby P. Hallasgo gratefully received the computer set, witnessed by other PESO of the province.
