6K jobs available in Oro Labor Day

Cagayan de Oro City – At least 6,849 job opportunities are offered to more than a thousand jobseekers in Northern Mindanao’s job and business fairs, simultaneous throughout the country and spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on 1 May 2017 during its 115th Labor Day celebration.

 

As of Wednesday, 26 April 2017, some 6,849 jobs are available at the Lim Ket Kai Mall Event Center, this City, alone, the DOLE- Regional Office No. X Director Joffrey M. Suyao, said Wednesday.

 

Of the confirmed job vacancies solicited, Director Suyao disclosed that around 1,894 will be available for local employment from 64 participating private companies and government agencies.

 

Meanwhile, the DOLE-X is expecting around 4,955 job vacancies for overseas employment from 26 Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) accredited recruitment agencies.

 

Top local job vacancies are Call Center Agents (300 positions) Property Consultants (100); Staff Nurse (45); Field Construction Officer (40); and Sales Associate for CDO (30).

 

Likewise, top overseas vacancies are Nurses (500); Service Crew (400); Food Server/Waiter (350); Cleaner (310); and Caregiver (300)

 

Most of the overseas manpower services job posts are in the Middle East countries.

 

Likewise, this year’s celebration is also highlighted through its nationwide Business Fair on 1 May 2017 at the Grand Caprice, Lim Ket Kai, this city.

 

Suyao informed that the region-wide job and business fairs replicate the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Concept forged by DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) which aims to bring employment opportunities through entrepreneurship for our workers in the informal sector or at the grassroot level.

 

Aside from May 1, another business and livelihood fair (with Labor and Employment for Graduating Students) will be conducted in Iligan City and its nearby areas in MSU-IIT on 1-2 June 2017 (Job Fair) and on 30 May 2017 for the Business Fair; LGU-Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte on 21 April 2017; Bukidnon State University, Malaybalay City on 11 May 2017; Central Mindanao University, Dologon, Musuan on 23 May 2017; and Mambajao, Camiguin on 2 May 2017.

 

Other venues for the job and business fair in the region on 1 May 2017 is at the Kaamulan Theatre, Malaybalay City; and in Oroquieta City Gymnasium.

 

The DOLE will be joined by members of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) comprising the DOLE attached agencies--Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), National Conciliation Mediation Board (NCMB), National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RWTPB), Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and POEA and will be bringing their services in the One-Stop-Shop Desks provided during the Job Fair in Lim Ket Kai mall.

 

Together with the DOLE Provincial Field Offices, the different provincial, city, and municipal local government units, through their respective Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), various Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils (TIPCs), and other allied-partner agencies will simultaneously celebrate the event in the respective provinces of the region. 

 

Participating jobseekers may avail the various pre-employment services from corresponding government agencies, as well.

 

Director Suyao announced that the jobseekers must be fully prepared when they participate in the job fair.

 

“I invite our jobseekers to participate in the Job Fair and ready themselves with their proper business attire, bring multiple copies of resumes, school credentials, certificates of employment, clearances, photos, passport (for overseas applicants), and other pertinent pre-employment documents needed by employers,” Suyao added.

Please present duly filled-up forms to Registration in Lim Ket Kai mall.

 

This year’s month-long Labor Day celebration in the region is anchored on the theme, “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho, Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.”
