DOLE-X intensifies Job and Business Fairs cum Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) in CMU,

Maramag, Bukidnon --  The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) - Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) will hold a Job and Business Fair cum Labor Education for Graduating students (LEGS) for all graduating college students on 23-24 May 2017 at the Farmer’s Training Center, Central Mindanao University (CMU), this municipality.


DOLE-X Buk PFO Chief Raul L. Valmores said, “This is the second Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) activity for the month of May 2017 as part of the labor month-long celebration of the region, through the leadership of DOLE-X Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao.”


In partnership with the academe, private sector, non-government organizations (NGOs), LGU thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the activity aims to provide employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the graduating college students. Current trends in the Labor Market (LMI) and the information on the rights and privileges of the workers and the management prerogatives will also be presented so that would-be workforce will be guided and prepared for their entry in the world of work.


Some 2,000 graduating students in CMU will be joining the activity with about 47 invited local companies and establishments and seven overseas recruitment agencies from the cities of  Cagayan de Oro and Davao and from this Province.



Valmores is hopeful that the Job and Business Fairs cum LEGS will open employment opportunities and build entrepreneurial culture among the job seekers. “We are hopeful that the learning session to be conducted will help increase the applicants’ employability to be hired in the key employment generating industries during Job Fair, and for those who are not fit for employment to consider entrepreneurial/business opportunities,” he concluded.
