41 Camiguin non-wage workers trained on organizational strengthening

Mambajao, Camiguin--- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) - Camiguin Provincial Field Office (Cam PFO) conducted an Organizational Strengthening Seminar to about 41 members of various workers’ organizations throughout the province on 4 May 2017 at Villa Paraiso Resort and Apartelle, this municipality.

 

DOLE-X Cam PFO Chief Emmanuel G. Toledo presented the elements of an organization and the roles of a Project Management Team (PMT) in starting or maintaining a livelihood or business venture.

 

A workshop on PMT assessment on their respective existing projects was conducted and group discussions were facilitated.

 

The formulation of their business improvement plans was the highlight of the seminar. The Department greatly encourages the sustenance and the enhancement of their livelihood projects in order to employ a number of workers, thereby promoting the economic boost of the province, thereby reducing poverty.

 

Toledo likewise emphasized that the strengthening of an association is one of the objectives of the Department to reinforce the organizations’ stability and structure amidst the competitiveness in the market today.

 

Capacity building for workers in the informal sectors is one the major activities of DOLE during this month-long Labor Day celebration.
