DOLE-X turnovers PhP 4.5M livelihood financial assistance to 938 Bukidnon beneficiaries

Malaybalay City, Bukidnon -- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) turned-over PhP 4,575,020.00 worth of livelihood financial assistance under its DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment (DILEEP) Program to two DOLE-Accredited Co-Partners for the the eight proponent associations benefiting 938 beneficiaries on 20 July 2017 at the DOLE-X Sugar Workers’ Livelihood Training Center , this city.

 

DOLE-X Bukidnon PFO Chief Raul L. Valmores informed that by ensuring easy access of the beneficiaries to livelihood or “Kabuhayan” and Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa mga Displaced/Disadvantage workers (TUPAD) programs aim to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce vulnerability of risks of the poor and marginalized workers and at the same time will serve as the stable source of income of the members of the community.

 

The said financial assistance was released to ACP or program partner Sumilao Sons and Daughters of Veterans Credit Cooperative (SSDVCC) of Brgy. Kisolon, Sumilao, worth PhP 3,357,780.00 for the funding projects of Motorcycle Repair Shop and Spare Parts; Meat Cutting/Vending and Cassava Farming; Swine Fattening; Dressmaking and Tailoring Projects; Citronella Oil Production and General Merchandise Project; and Motorcycle Spare Parts and Auto Repair Shop. The ACP is responsible in procuring the materials/equipment specified in the beneficiaries’ respective project proposals.

 

Likewise, the livelihood assistance released to Bukidnon Active Women’s Federation, Inc. (BAWFED) of Casisang, this city, also received PhP 1,217,240.00 for the Bed Sheets and Seat Cover Making, and Corn Grits Mill and Marketing.

 

One of the proponent beneficiaries, the farmers of Kapilya San Miguel MP Cooperative of Sitio Kipolot, Brgy.Palacapao, Quezon with a project on Corn Grits Mill and Marketing, were present. Board of Director Romeo Ruiz expressed his appreciation to DOLE-X, “We are very thankful to the Department of Labor and Employment, together with the ACP for giving us the opportunity to engage economic undertaking that would augment our meager income and ensure a brighter future not only for our members but as well as the community.”

 

Valmores encouraged all proponent-beneficiaries to sustain their projects. He further informed that if successful, they can still approach DOLE for additional financial assistance as enhancement. He also conveyed that DOLE now accepts Non-Government Organization (NGOs) as ACPs.
