DOLE Mis. Occ. PFO’s newly owned building, an epitome of a strong founded relationship

Oroquieta City--- Last July 20, 2017, the first floor of the building of the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) - Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) was completed and inaugurated. Its new location is at the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) Grounds, Upper Langcangan, this city.

 

“The celebration kicked-off with the office blessing officiated by Rev. Fr. Ernesto Lata and the ribbon cutting headed by DOLE-X Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao, Mis. Occ. Vice-Governor Aurora Virginia M. Almonte, and Mis. Occ. 2nd District Congressman Henry S. Oaminal,” reported by DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO Chief Leonardo G. Rodrigo. “After the blessing, the epigraph was unveiled revealing inscriptions recognizing the benefactors who contributed for the realization of the said building,” Rodrigo added.

 

RD Suyao courteously welcomed all the participants, “This building is a public property and could not have been realized without the assistance and valuable support of the people of Oroquieta City through Mayor Jason Almonte and the Sanguniang Panlungsod and through the funding of Congressmen Jorge T. Almonte and Henry S. Oaminal. They truly represent the voice of the people of this province. This is the first time where collaborative efforts of the government made the building possible at a zero cost from DOLE. We hope that the presence of DOLE in this province will provide quality service to our clientele and customers and to the public as a whole.”

 

 

The lot where the new DOLE building is located was acquired through donation. DOLE Field Office Chief Rodrigo represented the DOLE in a Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) session which paved for the issuance of SP Resolution No. 211-11-886 on 3 November 2011. Oroquieta City Mayor Almonte and DOLE executed a Deed of Donation on the 1,000 square meters lot.

 

Vice Governor Aurora Almonte, speaking on behalf of Cong. Almonte, said that DOLE is encouraged to continuously carry out its mandate not only with great efficiency but also with high degree of energy of improvement in the service of the people. Congressmen Jorge T. Almonte of the 1st district and Oaminal provided PhP 4 Million funding for the construction of the building. Almonte also pledged an additional PhP 2M for the second floor of the building.

 

“We will complete the construction of the whole building before December of this year. A second activity like this will happen, hopefully with Sec. Bello in attendance. I will be there to contribute to make your Christmas a happy and a prosperous one,” Cong. Oaminal said in his message. He also committed an additional PhP 3M for the completion of the two-storey building.

 

Also in attendance were the provincial, local and municipal government officials; national government partners; Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers from different Local Government Units (LGUs) and academes; Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) implementers; Misamis Occidental Association of Family Welfare Committee (MOAFWC) members; career guidance counselors;  private and private stakeholders; and DOLE livelihood beneficiaries.

 

Meanwhile,as a side line of the event, the following livelihood financial assistance were ceremonially turned-over, under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) to various LGU-Accredited Co-Partners (ACP), beneficiaries and proponents: (1) PhP 1M for the Bigasan Center in the LGU of Clarin; (2) PhP 531, 836 for the GK Sewing Project in Lopez Jaena; (3) PhP 1,741,401 for the Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa mga Disadvantaged or Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in Oroquieta City and another PhP 3,831,550 for the Congressional District of Cong. Oaminal; and PhP 1M for the DILEEP Kabuhayan in LGU of Oroquieta.

 

In conclusion, Rodrigo said, “This occasion marked the visible beginning of a new milestone for DOLE-X as we embrace further its commitment to quality service to meet the increasing demands and expectations of the greater public. We are very blessed with generous supports from our Provincial and Local Officials as we cannot do this without you.”
