DOLE-X Mis. Occ. orients various associations of Taboc Norte to DOLE programs and services

Oroquieta City- Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Misamis Occidental (Mis. Occ.) Provincial Field Office (PFO) conducted an orientation to several associations of Brgy. Taboc Norte on the various DOLE programs and services on the 22nd of January 2018 at the Brgy. Multipurpose Hall, this City.

 

25 individual representatives from three different associations of unemployed women, marginalized fisher-folks and landless farmers participated.

 

DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO Chief Leonardo G. Rodrigo said, “In its quest for better service delivery, DOLE ensures its clients awareness of their rights, responsibilities, options, as wells as the array of programs and services the DOLE offers such as employment facilitation, labor education, productivity trainings and livelihood assistance to start a business which fall under our DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program or commonly known as DILEEP.”

 

DILEEP provides grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood for the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers as well as community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and unemployed poor.

 

Rodrigo added that the DILEEP beneficiaries can receive livelihood assistance in the form of tools and equipment, along with training cum production, and skills training and upgrading to capacitate them to pursue income-generating activities.

 

Busilak Women’s Association Treasurer Lilibeth Daginutas, 53 years old, and a housewife for 30 years expressed her eagerness to start up a sari-sari store business to augment their family income since her husband is almost retiring from his job.

 

She also thanked DOLE for the information imparted to them so they will be aware of the services they can avail.

 

Furthermore, the meeting ended with queries and clarifications as Rodrigo concluded with a statement, “DOLE prioritizes the delivery of its numerous programs more effectively, ensuring greater availability and improved quality of public services to the people of the City and extensively across the Province.”
