DOLE-X facilitates 390 Mis. Occ. Grade 10 and 293 Grade 12 students’ career paths and strengthens

 

Oroquieta City -- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through its Misamis Occidental (Mis. Occ.) Provincial Field Office (PFO), in order to promote gainful opportunities so every Filipino worker can attain full, decent and productive employment thru Career Guidance Orientation Seminar to 390 Grade 10 students and Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) of Aloran Trade High School on 20 March 2018.

 

“This program establishes a productive labor force through the proactive measure of educating and steering future jobseekers to the right place in the labor market towards a job-rich, inclusive growth throughout the province,” said DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO Chief Leonardo G. Rodrigo.

 

Rodrigo aims to enlighten and shape the minds of the students towards in-demand occupations and emerging industries that will have greater absorptive employment capacity in the next years.

 

In line with the Department of Education’s Memorandum on the conduct of Career Guidance to students, DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO started off by carrying out series of diagnostic tests to assess students’ career interests based on their acquired skills and personality types.

 

Also, information about the trends of the Labor Market was tackled, including jobs which are seen to be in demand for the next decade, which can surely expose students to a much wider range of employment opportunities.

 

Likewise, on 21 March 2018, the said PFO conducted a LEGS seminar to Misamis Occidental National High School (MONTHS) at Oroquieta City with some 293 Grade 12 students.

 

On highlighting the importance of LEGS, Rodrigo reinforced the employability, utilization, and productivity of the country’s pool of human resources down to the high school level, driven by the mission to lessen the problem of job mismatch and disparity of employment opportunities in the student’s future endeavors.

 

With DOLE’s Labor Education Programs, students will also be acquainted to different facilities the government has opened to aid those who need assistance in building up their careers.
