DOLE-X orients 64 Nazareth residents on livelihood programs

 

Cagayan de Oro City --- The Department of Labor and Employment-X (DOLE-X) - Western Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office (WMO PFO) oriented the 64 Barangay Nazareth’s residents under the 2nd District of Cagayan de Oro on the DILEEP or the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program on 3 April 2018 at the 12th-30th Streets, Nazareth, this city. Participants came from the women’s organization, youth sector, senior citizens, LGBT, solo parents, habal-habal drivers, and surrendered tokhang individuals.

 

Former Congressman of the 2nd District of Cagayan de Oro Rufus Rodriguez graced the activity. He committed assistance to his constituents in for them to avail the programs. 

 

TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.

 

DILP or the Kabuhayan Program is the DOLE's contribution to the government’s agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and substantial poverty reduction. It seeks to reduce the vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers by providing them access to grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood ventures either for individual or group undertakings.

 

DILEEP has two categories, the Kabuhayan/Livelihood and TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers. The participants were very much interested since they have been yearning to improve their existing projects and some wanted to join the business venture in improving their financial conditions. Discussed in the orientation were the salient features of the program and the process on how to avail. The Medium and Small Scale Industries Coordinated Action Program (MASICAP) MSME Development Foundation Inc. members were also present and discussed to the soon-to-be-beneficiaries on proposal-making.
