Bukidnon 4th District launches Government Internship Program to 202 beneficiaries

 

Province of Bukidnon --- The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), Bukidnon Provincial Field Office (Buk PFO) conducted a series of orientation on Government Internship Program (GIP) to the 202 beneficiaries under the municipalities in the 4th District of the province. The hired interns will render five-month service to their assigned government offices.

 

DOLE-GIP is governed by DOLE Admin. Order No. 39, Series of 2014, which provides opportunities and engages young workers, the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service with the ultimate purpose of attracting the best and the brightest who want to pursue a career in government service. This is also to fast track the implementation and monitoring of DOLE programs and projects related to employment facilitation and social protection, all of which directly contributes to the goal of inclusive growth through massive employment generation.

 

The conduct was initiated to inform qualified interns on the rationale of the program, requirements to be submitted, their duties and functions which includes profiling of child laborer/s in the barangay, profiling of skilled workers and encoding the registrant in Skills Registry System. They were also informed in their work assignments as manpower compliment/office aide and other function not highly- technical in nature.

 

These interns will be receiving an allowance/stipend for Php 253.50 per day, as 75% of Php 338.00, the highest prevailing minimum wage in the Region. They will start their employment on June 1, 2018 – October 31, 2018.
