Camiguin’s DOLE-assisted livelihood Projects-KASAMMA Tingco-tingco Boat and Fishing Project and Ax

Mambajao, Camiguin --- In a recently-concluded awarding ceremonies last 11 May 2018 at the Heritage Hotel in Manila, the Tingco-tingco Boat and Fishing Project of Kahugpungan sa Masilakong Mangingisda (KASAMMA) Organization of Sagay was   awarded as first place in the group categories on the search for the Best DOLE-assisted Livelihood Projects in the entire country, topping 15 other regional nominees.  KASAMMA President Fernando Ocaba received the award with the Department of Labor and Employment-X (DOLE-X) Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao and staff, together with Sagay PESO Manager Edgar Dagaraga.  Mr. Ocaba also received the first place cash prize of PhP 100,000.00 and PhP 50,000.00 for being the regional winner.


Meanwhile, the PisoNet project of Mr. Axel Salise won second place in the individual category, besting other 15 regional nominees.  Salise also received the second place cash awards worth PhP 40,000.00 and PhP 30,000.00 as the 2nd place regional winner.


Both nominees were also awarded as best video documentations. The search is organized by DOLE, with the funding allocated also by the Department. KASAMMA was financially assisted in the amount of PhP 400,000, and the Piso Net Project with a PhP 10,000.00 start-up capital. 


The awarding ceremonies were graced by DOLE Undersecretaries Joel Maglungsod and Ciriaco Lagunzad, Assistant Secretary Ma. Gloria A. Tango and a number of bureau directors of DOLE.  Congressman Rolando Batoail served as the keynote speaker during the ceremonies.
