DOLE-X released P300K worth Rice Marketing Projects in Salay, Balingasag MisOr

 

Villanueva, Misamis Oriental --- Five worker’s associations from Misamis Oriental received livelihood assistance in the form of Rice Marketing Projects from the Department of Labor Regional Office, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) - Eastern Misamis Oriental (EMO) Provincial Field Office (PFO). Two groups received on 5 May 2018 at Balingasag and three on 17 May 2018 in Salay.

 

Misamis Oriental Vice-Governor Joey Peleaz said in his inspirational talk, “I hope you will take good care of these projects given to you. I wish you all success and I hope this opportunity will be a stepping stone for better lives for every one of you.”

 

On 3 May 2018, Rosario Women’s Association received 32 sacks worth PhP 68,000.00; Balaganan Women’s Association got 20 sacks worth PhP 43,800.00; and on 17 May  2018, Tinagaan Farmers and Women’s Association accepted 23 sacks worth PhP 53,900.00; Salay River I Women’s Association-23 sacks (PhP 50,450.00); and Talisayan Fish Landing and Brokers Association as the recipient of 42 sacks (PhP 87,300.00).

 

The livelihood assistance was handed over to Linabo Agrarian Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LAMCO), as the Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) during the said ceremonial turnovers.

 

DOLE-X EMO PFO Chief Errol A. Natividad expressed his gratitude to the willingness of the groups, “In behalf of DOLE, I am thankful that we were able to help you in improving your economic endeavors in life.” “I wish you the best and success in your future undertakings. We chose you as beneficiaries of this Kabuhayan Program because we see your potential in sustaining these projects,” he added.

 

Livelihood or Kabuhayan Program is a component of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) which grants assistance for capacity-building on livelihood for the poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers. It provides a working capital solely for the purchase of equipment, tools and jigs, raw materials, among others, to be used in their livelihood undertakings.

 

Rosario Women’s Association President Jomeda dela Fuerte concluded in her acceptance message, “We are thankful to DOLE for giving us the chance to be beneficiaries of its livelihood program. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  We will take care of the project which the DOLE has entrusted us.”
