Government Internship Program (GIP) window to public service

 

Mambajao, Camiguin --- “Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” A Famous line of Lou Holtz is the inspiration of Engr. Josefa N. Tadlip, a former beneficiary of the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X – Camiguin Provincial Field Office (DOLE-X Cam. PFO) and the Provincial Government of Camiguin.

 

Ms. Tadlip is an Electrical Engineer who decided to pursue a career in government service. She was under the GIP last September to December 2017. With her proven capability and good working attitude, she was hired by the Provincial Government as a job order worker and was assigned at the Governor’s office to provide back-staffing and other special projects of the governor.  She came from a family of eleven (11). She supports financially her parents, Marilyn is a housewife and Bernardo, a retired fire officer.

 

GIP is a program of the Department which provides three to six months’ internship opportunity to high school, technical-vocational or college graduates who want to pursue a career in public service in either local or national government.

 

“I am thankful for working under the GIP because I learned so many things, I attended various training, and gained experience about public service,” Tadlip gratefully said.

 

She added that being employed where she was an intern by the Provincial Government meant her good performance was noticed, thus motivated her to be more productive in her currents tasks and duties. Tadlip acknowledged that the government’s program indeed helps those poor but deserving graduates to be given a higher chance of employment.
