136 Magsaysay, MisOr TUPAD workers paid P459K wages, beneficiary sends five children to school


Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental --- On 14 January 2019, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office of the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No, X, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of this municipality, released the M Lhuillier transaction numbers to its 136 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries as payment of their services rendered in the amount PhP459,680.00.


The program TUPAD is a community-based assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum work period of ten days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.


TUPAD beneficiary Wilfredo Pagaran, 61 year old farmer of the municipality was interviewed with regard to the program and he said: “Dako akong pasalamat sa tabang aning TUPAD kay ang akong sweldo nga nakuha diri kay gi-gamit nako pang palit ug pagkaon. Naa koy lima ka anak unya kaning sweldo nako naka tabang ni sa pagpa-eskwela sa akong Grade 10 nga anak. (I am very grateful that I have an earning from TUPAD to buy food for me and my five children and at the same time was able to send them to school.)” He also said that he would want the program to continue because it would help more poor people in need.
