CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) through its Cagayan de Oro City Field Office (CDO FO) [formerly Western Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office] released the salary of the 25 Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa mga Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries from Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental on 4 January 2019.

Each beneficiary went through a ten-day emergency employment by conducting social community projects like cleaning and de-clogging canals in various parts of the municipality for a daily earning based on statutory minimum wage stipulated in the contract.

“We are grateful that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental was one of the many municipalities of the province to benefit from this TUPAD Program from DOLE.  Indeed, in a short time, this helped a lot not just for our beneficiaries, but also to our community.  We are hoping for future projects like this,” Laguindingan Mayor Disodado T. Obsioma expressed.

TUPAD Program is a program of the Department under its DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program or DILEEP, wherein internally displaced/disadvantaged workers are given a short term employment of not less than 10 days but not more than 30 days.  Beneficiaries of this program are also paid with a minimum wage of the region and are enrolled with an accidental insurance under the GSIS.
