DOLE-X targets 73 librarians of Mis. Occ. with LHP seminar

 

 

Oroquieta City --- With the Filipino workforce at the center of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE’s) strategic goals to be gainfully employed, globally competitive, secure, safe and healthy, DOLE, Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X), through Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) prioritizes the delivery of services and implementation of programs such as the conduct of Labor Relations, Human Relations and Productivity (LHP) seminar to Misamis Occidental Information Managers and Librarian Association Incorporated (MOIMLAI).

 

Last 25 January 2019 at Overview Garden Resort, Sinacaban, 73 librarians, teacher-librarians, library in-charge and information managers participated in the LHP seminar, for them to be aware on how to deal with cordial human relationship in the workplace, and know their rights and privileges as an employee are enforced respecting the exercise of rights of their co-workers.

 

DOLE-X Mis. Occ. PFO Chief Leonardo G. Rodrigo explained that the half-day seminar served as an avenue for the employees to expand their knowledge on labor relations and other concepts such as, but not limited to security of tenure, alternative dispute resolution strategies; human relation concepts including employee motivation, meaningful communication, positive values; and productivity techniques through 5S.

 

Rodrigo highlighted the importance of human relations to be at the center of all human resource development endeavors to promote harmonious labor and management relations aimed to increase workers’ productivity and competitiveness. He added that kindness and compassion with sensitivity to the needs of the others are highly necessary for workplace harmony.

 

LHP will keep employees updated of the current developments in labor laws; guarantee professional growth through advancement of basic knowledge, skills and attitude in line with the changes in the business system and help improve continuous productivity in the performance of their jobs. 

 

Moreover, information about the trends of the Labor Market was tackled focusing on in demand and hard-to-fill occupations for increased employment opportunities.

 

“Ultimately, the applicability and flexibility in the implementation of DOLE Programs had substantially changed the way labor disputes are being handled.” Rodrigo declared.
