CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — For its 2nd year, the one-minute-no-dialogue DOLEkula Film Festival by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) Northern Mindanao community facilitators continues in creating a digital platform significantly different from typical film festivals.

Six competing entries, including one guest entrant are again given the general perspective onwards the same direction—the elimination of child labor in line with the implementation of Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP).

Pelikulang DOLE or DOLEkula dynamically discovered new film writers, directors who cultivated the development of DOLE NorMin employees’ film appreciation that crafted new breeds of visual artists who champion on diverse, stylistic and original storytelling.

DOLEkula‘s humble beginning in 2021 started during the Word Day Against Child Labor (WDACL) regional celebration that amplified community’s support in the need to scale up its efforts to prevent children from going into child labor and free those who are already engaged in child labor.

The laudable project metamorphosed to a commendable initiative in coming up with innovative means to increase partnership with different sectors and engage them in CLPEP campaign against child labor.

Last year’s season drew attention and awareness when entries were advocated in giant billboards, seaports, airports, public bus transports and local television network.

On 12 June during the celebration of 2022 DOLE-X WDACL, Regional Director Albert E. Gutib will confer 3 consolation prizes, 3 major awards, and 10 minor winners for best performer in a lead role, best cinematography, best story, best musical score, best production design, best direction, best editing, best 1-minute film, audience choice and Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns special jury prize.
