CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Department of Labor and Employment-Northern Mindanao conducted an online orientation on the guidelines intended for the members of the regional screening committee (RSC) on 19 May 2022 in preparation for the evaluation of the regional contenders that will vie for the nationwide Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award II (SBSA II).

 

SBSA II continued its efforts in recognizing the Public Employment Services Offices (PESOs) and Job Placement Offices (JPOs) recognizing exemplary humanitarian service resulting to employment facilitation services despite prevalence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

A total of 15 entries comprising of 13 PESOs and 2 JPOs vye for the 2021 search under 10 categories namely Misamis Oriental (1st class province), Lanao del Norte (2nd class province), Iligan and Cagayan de Oro (highly urbanized cities), El Salvador and Oroquieta (component cities), Tubod, Lanao del Norte and Opol, Misamis Oriental (1st-2nd class municipalities), Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental, and Jimenez, Misamis Occidental (3rd-4th class municipalities), Catarman, Camiguin and Salvador, Lanao del Norte (5th-6th class municipalities), North Central Mindanao College and Camiguin Polytechnic State College for JPOs, respectively.

 

DOLE NorMin Regional Director Albert E. Gutib expressed its gratitude to the RSC members particularly the Department of Interior and Local Government, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Information Agency, PESOMAP-X, Occupational Safety and Health Network-10, and Mindanao Association for Quality, Inc. for their continuing support to the Department which resulted to the victories gained for the region on the search for the SBSA I where four (4) regional entries reaped national recognition.

 

“It is my prayer to sustain the awards we garnered in the last season. The victory that we attained was not only the victory for DOLE-X but also for the members of this committee”. Said Gutib in his message.

 

The RSC, as an independent and external awards and deliberation committee performs through screening, verification of entries, review stellar accomplishments, and or augment/rectify/ flaws based on equitable review of qualified entries. The RSC then recommends for the DOLE NorMin’s official entries.

The regional office through the Technical Support and Services Division will conduct the regional final screening of the 15 entries on 10 June 2022 using the prescribed criteria on innovation, invention, resilience which shall be supported by documentary requirements, photos and testimonials from their beneficiaries prior to submission to the central office.
