CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Seven Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) and one Job Placement Office (JPO) in Northern Mindanao were conferred as regional winners for the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award II (SBSA II) at the DOLE NorMin activity area.
DOLE NorMin Regional Director Albert E. Gutib said the judging was done on 10 June 2022 by the Regional Screening Committee (RSC) composed of the Department of Interior and Local Government, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Mindanao Association of Quality, Inc., Occupational Safety and Health Network, Philippine Information Agency, Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of the Philippines-X and Department of Labor and Employment.
The RSC, as an independent and external awards and deliberation committee performs screening, verification of entries, review stellar accomplishments, and or augment/rectify/flaws based on equitable review of qualified entries.
Gutib thanked the jurors for their continuing support to the Department which resulted to the victories gained for the region on the search for the SBSA I where four (4) regional entries reaped national recognition.
14 Regional bid books from 9 categories were presented and tediously deliberated following criteria set by the Bureau of Local Employment that include innovation, resilience and humanitarian services.
The regional winners were commended for exemplary performance in terms of implementing DOLE priorities by providing humanitarian services to their constituents during the height of the challenging crisis underscoring job training, skills development and employment opportunities.
Here is the complete list of winners: Misamis Oriental (1st class province), Lanao del Norte (2nd class province), Cagayan de Oro (highly urbanized cities), Oroquieta (component cities), Tubod, Lanao del Norte (1st-2nd class municipalities), Jimenez, Misamis Occidental (3rd-4th class municipalities), Catarman, Camiguin (5th-6th class municipalities), and Camiguin Polytechnic State College for JPO, respectively.
Winners earned their tickets to officially represent the region in the national search.
