CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Some 21,861 beneficiaries from the city’s two districts and 80 barangays were granted with P88,252,546 total worth of livelihood projects and emergency employment by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE X) – Cagayan de Oro City Field Office (CDO FO) for the first half of the year.


DOLE-X CDO FO Chief Emmanuel Toledo said the aid was thru the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) and in coordination with the city’s Job Placement Bureau-Public Employment Service Office (JPB-PESO).


Toledo said from the total amount, P78 Million was accounted for the emergency employment to 19,010 workers and the remaining P10 Million was allotted to the 21 group projects and 245 individual starter kits.


“From the reports, a 905% increase in the number of beneficiaries was observed as compared to the 2,416 beneficiaries served midyear last year. Also, the financial report recorded a high 489% increase in terms of utilization of funds with barely P18M utilized for the same period last year,” Toledo said.   

The accomplishment is a product of careful planning, strengthened collaboration of staff and partners, open communication and effective leadership.


DILEEP is the department’s contribution to the government’s agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and poverty reduction. Its two components are DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) otherwise known as the Kabuhayan Program and Emergency Employment Program (EEP) or the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers.
